More info about Collectable patches
Since we have been manufacturing our patches for
nearly 10 years we have collected a substantial amount of patches deemed unworthy for sale
at our regular prices. All of our Collectable patches are guaranteed to look good at a
reasonable distance. In fact with the camera set to magnify we still had to go to
some lengths with the camera angle in order to capture the blemishes.
All Collectable patches will contain one or more of the following:
The color of the tan on collectable patches will be
lighter than the tan used on solasX patches.

excessive amount of small particles |

If
you served in Iraq or
Although Polyurethane is extremely durable, scratch and solvent resistant, it does get
brittle with age.
Over time the Polyurethane topcoat gets harder which in turn makes it brittle and can be
cracked when it is bent.
Since some of our Printing Seconds are ten years old, it is possible that the Printing
Second patch you receive will be
brittle and can be easily cracked. This is
just something that happens over time to the polyurethane top coat.
Even though the patches can be cracked it does not affect the performance of the patch,
and the image remains intact.
If you care more about cosmetics than performance, we recommend you purchase a solasX
patch.
solasX patches are made in a completely different way which eliminates the need for
polyurethane.
We are in the process of switching our manufacturing entirely over to the solasX process.
